Master's Invitation

Master's Invitational Recipients

Invites will be awarded by the center judge to titlist winners of traditional rank competitions.  For more information and updates, invitees may pre-register and record their accomplishments by visiting and entering the details provided on the invitation.  Taking this action will also provide them with an electronic copy of their invitation.

Competition Format

The Master’s Invitational event category takes place at the World Championships and has been developed as a competitive extension to traditional rank competition.  Like traditional rank competition, invitees will be assigned to a specific competition ring in which both traditional rank Sport Sparring and Ho-Am Form competitions will be conducted.  To avoid time restraints, students who elect to participate in the Master’s Invitational event category will not be eligible to compete in the traditional rank competitions.

**Note: Participants who receive an invitation are not required to participate in the “Masters Invitation” competition category at the World Championships and may choose to compete in the traditional rank competition.  All participants who receive an invitation, and choose to compete, will do so at their then current belt rank.

 District & National Competition

All students participating in district competition for Forms and/or Sparring are eligible to receive a Master’s Invitation to the World Championships.  At a district and national event, competition rings are broken down into according to the rank division chart below.  Each ring will have registrants compete in both Rank Sport Sparring and the Ho-Am Form.  Medals will be awarded in both categories for the 1st through 3rd place finish.  Invitations are awarded to any ring competitor who receives a Titlist Medal in Rank Sport Sparring or the Ho-Am Form competition.
